Natural Turkey Club Recipe

THE CLASSIC CLUB is a double-decker sandwich that, so the story goes, was first served at the famous Saratoga Club-House (Saratoga Springs, New York) in the 1890s. We left out the middle piece of bread—seems like everyone’s watching their waistlines!

    White sandwich bread
    Mayonnaise
    Leaf iceberg or Bibb lettuce
    Applegate Farms Roasted Turkey Breast
    Tomato
    Applegate Farms Sunday Bacon
    Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 slices white sandwich bread, toasted
2 to 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 leaf iceberg or Bibb lettuce
4 slices Applegate Farms Roasted Turkey Breast
2 slices ripe tomato
4 slices Applegate Farms Sunday Bacon
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

 

Spread one side of each slice of toast with mayonnaise. Arrange lettuce leaf, then sliced turkey, then tomato slices, then bacon, in that order, on 1 of the slices of toast and season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover with the other slice of toast, mayonnaise side down. Cut sandwich in half on the diagonal, and use 2 toothpicks to hold the layers of each sandwich half in place.
