nat dry bacon

Natural Dry Cured Bacon

One of the most important ingredients in our new Dry Cured Bacon is time - about two weeks to be precise. After a careful hand rubbing with salt and sugar, we give this bacon seven full days to rest and develop complex flavors and aromas. Then we smoke it for hours to further enhance the flavor. But that isn't the end. Before slicing, we hang the meat for several more days to allow even richer flavor to develop. Give it a try. We're confident you'll find it's worth your time.

I can smell it now January 14, 2012

Reviewer: Reece T.

This is very good bacon with outstanding flavor. As someone that is from the south (where bacon is a staple) and lived all over the country, I can say that this is some of the best packaged bacon that I've ever bought at a store. One review said it was too salty. No way! If that is your impression of it, you must not like any kind of bacon. Keep up the good work!

Salt as an Antimicrobial October 17, 2011

Reviewer: Applegate *.

Dear Valerie, Thanks for writing in to let us know of your salt issue. Since our products do not contain any preservatives, salt plays a large role as an antimicrobial. Saying that, none of our product’s taste should be overshadowed by salt flavor – if you could please be in touch to check quality assurance that would be great 1-866-587-5858. Thank you!

Very salty October 17, 2011

Will not buy this bacon again - it was very salty. Salt overshadowed bacon flavor. Like some of Applegate's lunch meats but none of the bacons.

Fantastic! August 12, 2011

I and my family LOVE bacon, but we rarely eat it because of all the nitrates. This is a great product that I don't feel guilty eating. We can now enjoy bacon again semi-regularly (still watch fat and salt)knowing that there are NO carcinogens!

Dry-cured bacon August 1, 2011

Reviewer: Kate P.

I bought this bacon for the first time last week, and I LOVE it! It is perfect...not too thick and jerky-like, not too thin. It's crisp, flavorful and wonderful. The first Applegate bacon I tried was the Sunday bacon, which I think is too thinly cut. Dry-cured is just right. I have found my bacon, so don't ever stop making it!

This is the best bacon I have ever tasted. Hands down the perfect flavor and crispness like the old fashioned pork bacon we are all so familular with.
