Tips for Hosting a Panini Party

Breads and Spreads
Lay out a selection of sliced rustic bread, deli meat, cheese and grilled vegetables so your guests can create their own panini.

In addition to classic condiments like mustard and mayonnaise, set out bowls of pesto, chutney, tapenade, caramelized onions, and roasted peppers.

Creating Your Paninis
If you don’t own a panini press, use a heavy skillet and weigh down the panini with another heavy pan or a brick.

A portable gas burner or electric skillet will allow you to grill the sandwiches wherever you decide to set up the panini bar.

Keeping the Masses Happy
For an appetizer, grill some panini ahead of time and keep them in a warm oven until guests arrive, then cut into bite sized pieces and serve.

Don’t forget dessert!
Have guests fill two slices of good artisan bread, or brioche, with finely chopped chocolate. Our favorite is Kallari. Spread the bread with softened butter and grill until golden brown. Let panini cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and watch your guests swoon.
