The New Yorker Panini

    Granny Smith apple
    Italian or sourdough bread
    Olive oil
    Honey
    Dijon mustard
    Mayonnaise
    Cider vinegar
    Garlic powder

Applegate Farms New York Aged Cheddar
Granny Smith apple
Italian or sourdough bread
1/3 cup Olive Oil
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1 Tbsp Cider Vinegar
1/8 tsp Garlic Powder

 

Step 1
Layer Applegate Farms Sliced Black Forest Ham, Applegate Farms New York Aged Cheddar, and thinly sliced Granny Smith apple on slices of rustic Italian or sourdough bread.

Step 2
Lightly brush the top of sandwiches with olive oil and grill on a panini press until golden brown.

If you don’t own a panini press, place the sandwiches in a heavy skillet, and weight the panini down with a smaller skillet and a teapot filled halfway with water. Cook the panini over medium heat until the bottoms are nicely toasted and golden brown. Flip the panini over and repeat.

Step 3
Serve panini with honey mustard sauce for dipping.

To make honey mustard sauce:

Whisk all ingredients together in a mixing bowl until well blended.

Demo Del prepared this panini and it was fantastic--a perfect combination of ham(and I normally don't eat ham), melted cheese and sliced apples. It's great with or without the dressing.
