Every day antibiotics are fed to animals on Industrial farms to speed up growth and compensate for unsanitary living conditions. In fact, up to 70 percent of all antibiotics produced in the U.S. are given to animals being raised for food. This practice promotes the creation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria on industrial farms, which eventually make their way to humans. Antibiotic-resistant strains of MRSA, Staph, E-Coli and Salmonella are having a serious impact on public health and can be traced to industrial farming practices.

Speak Up! Ask Congress to support the Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act (PAMTA), legislation that would withdraw seven classes of antibiotics vitally important to human health from use on industrial farms unless animals are sick.
